He's Back
So Don Imus is allowed to come back into our lives with a new radio program. It seems my blog has come full circle and my cause has been heard. Lets keep free speech free. This nation has too much to deal with to be worried about PCBS (political correct bull s...) on a day to day basis. War, poverty, homelessness, disease, basically all the left wing cannon fodder is what we have to deal with. Manhatten is going to be under 10 feet of water if we don't do something about global warming, let's collectively stop worrying about speech infringements and the FCC and start worrying about things that matter.

32 Dead in Virginia
As a campus student in New Hampshire I am mortified by the events that happened earlier today.
Find a blog about the story here. I've been complaining about Don Imus and the social issues regarding that story for the past week, now does it matter? 32 dead from the confused mind of a gunman. Does Don Imus's job mean anything to me now? Did the days of non-stop coverage over that story do justice to "real" news? This is a sad time for our nation. I am deeplysaddened without being directly affected. This is the worst unnatural disaster since 9-11. Social injustice in this country seems a small price when you hear about the horrendous events of today or even a day of war in Iraq. Even with the massacre that has happened today, we should keep the Iraq war in our minds. Our soldiers die daily, lets not forget them for a second. Find daily news about Iraq here.

Indie
I know, the word may be daunting. Indie, there I said it. As a non-conformist I find it hard to accept that I am part of any fad or culture, even a counter-culture. Over the past year I've realized that I am, in fact, indie. I like indie film, indie music, indie literature. I'm fascinated by the author Jonathan Safran-Foer here's an interesting dialogue about "Everything is Illuminated." Anyway, I don't look indie, so maybe I'm still straying from the inevitable categorization as an indie kid. I have accepted the culture, and I like it. Here's a great indie site and MP3 blog indiekids.org. I've accepted my fate, now I choose to share the culture with those around me that listen to the mainstream media. Be sowers of indie, spread the word my Indie Witnesses. Here's a site that reviews all kinds of albums, mainstream, indie rock, rap. They also put on a great two day festival in Chicago, pitchfork. I've managed to write this entire post without flipping out about Free Speech and Don Imus. See below for details.

Revenge of the Nerds 27
A video I made sometime last year. Just making fun of you gamer nerds, nothing new.
Free Speech Petition
To: NBC, CBS, Parent Companies, Advertisers, Corporate America
Don Imus has been fired from both radio and television. We at intimination.blogspot.com wish to change it. Take a stance for free speech and educated adults being able to choose what they listen to. Don't fall in to the cowardly advertisers version of America. Create your own version of America and stand up for the first amendment to the constitution. Certainly we do not condone nor agree with what Imus said, but the fact is he was quoting a movie, making a bad joke, and being a "shock jock." The fact is he has raised millions of dollars for charity and although he is responsible for what he says on the air, his listeners are adults that can make their own choices about what they believe and what they listen to. America does not need a scapegoat for the racial tension that exists in the world today. We can start a dialogue about race in America without ousting radio hosts. Lets start a petition targeted at NBC and CBS and their respective parent companies and advertisers. This petition is for the continuation of FREE SPEECH! Continue the dialogue by posting comments at http://intimination.blogspot.com

IMUS FIRED!!!! Sign the Petition!
How can we as a nation give in to this politically correct B.S. that we have been subjected to over the past few years! How can Imus be fired over such a trivial remark? Free speech exists in America. I realize that as a public figure Imus has the moral and ethical responsibility to treat people with respect, but he does a comedy show! Imus is not a public figure that has been trusted with speaking the gospel truth, he states his opinions on his show. I doubt Imus is really a racist or a sexist, but even if he were he should be allowed (and he is by law) to say whatever he wants on the air as regulated by the FCC.
